Pete’s journey as a photographer began in the early 90’s, documenting the raw energy of an emerging east coast skateboarding culture. Born to single, mixed-race mother, and later adopted by white parents, Pete’s unique background profoundly impacted his approach to photography, inspiring him to explore themes of identity and belonging.

Following a decade as senior staff photographer for TransWorld Skateboard Magazine, Pete moved to NYC in 2008 to pursue a wider range of work and inspiration. Following 4 yrs working as first assistant to noted Danish photographer Anders Overgaard, he broke away and re-established his own work incorporating his passion for capturing real, authentic moments that feel candid and spontaneous. Represented by New York based agency UtopiaNYC from 2013-2020, Pete shot for brands such as Lancome, Nike, IZOD, Callaway, Walmart, Citibank, New York Life, Under Armour, Neiman Marcus to name a few.

In 2020 Pete released “93til” with publisher GoffBooks. The book, featuring his film archives spanning 20 yrs is a retrospective of skateboarding culture in the 1990’s. “93til” is currently in its 4th printing.

In 2013, Pete began searching and eventually reconnected with his birth mother.

Pete spends his time between NYC, San Francisco and Los Angeles, with his 4 year old son Fin.
